Meredith on Sep 21, 2016You should know ahead of time that if you go with any of these options, then later want to change to a tile (glue down vinyl or ceramic w/ mortar) you will need to scrape the concrete clean or the adhesive/mortar won't stick.Helpful Reply

Morag on Sep 24, 2016I have used floor paint on concrete floors with very good effect. sometimes sold as being for garage floors and used to just come in cardinal red, but most places like b and q (Uk diy shop) do it in different colours. Old concrete will just give it a rustic look. prices are around £35 for 5 litres from screw fix or double that from Farrow and Ball (But a good range of colours!)Helpful Reply

Jean on Sep 24, 2016Sounds like a great idea! Just ensure you do this with windows open, and furnace is totally off including pilot light. Good time to do is a sunny dry day. you can buy floor cement paint in different colors now besides the boring gray basement color. just clean floor of debri and marks. Assume you need two days to complete. Start around furnace etc with brush. Take pole off kitchen broom attach paint roller and do rest. l would put a fan on it for night. Then continue finish painting off next day. The longer you let dry without usage the better. Suppies needed. broom. one gallon paint, roller, brush, and paint remover for hands incase of boo boos lol. Good luck. Post a before and after picHelpful Reply
