I don't have a cleaning solution but if you can't get the paint out and you don't want to toss the rug, I have seen some amazing rug painting projects on Hometalk, maybe you can paint the rug to cover the stain?
What kind of paint is it and what is the carpet made out of.
Try some hot water with a few squirts of Dawn dish liquid. Pour a little on the paint spot. Blot, do not rub, with a clean cloth turning and changing the cloth. You can also use paper towels. If the paint has fully dried, use Goof Off to soften the paint and blot.
I would buy some paint remover at the local home improvement store. Some of them have a VERY STRONG odor so please take precautions. Their flooring dept. can probably make recommendations. Good Luck.
Thanks, had not thought of that,
I would second the recommendation of paint remover, just remember to work slowly and carefully, and you can get it all out.
Hi there, so sorry to hear about the spill. For tough to remove paint stains, mix 2 tablespoons of household ammonia and 1 cup of water.
