That's so frustrating!! I found a few possible causes: "It might be that the water supply, inlet valve and float switch are operating normally and your dishwasher has a different type of problem.
Your dishwasher has a switch to detect if the door is open (which is how it stops automatically if you open the door during the cycle). If the switch is faulty or otherwise not functioning properly then the dishwasher won’t fill. If you suspect an issue with the door switch you’ll normally need to remove the inner door panel to gain access."
Good luck!

My LG dishwasher has the same issue. The moaning-groaning noise subsides when you add 2 quarts of water. Since the dishwasher has multiple fill cycles it requires supplemental water at least 5-6 times per load. I hired a repairman to check out the problem. He made a call to LG and they were very aware of this defect. Never looking at the dishwasher, the serviceman still charged me $150. for the service call and then wanted another $300. to order the part and install the faulty over flow valve. Needless to say I didn't have it repaired. LG should take responsibility for the defect. The appliance service department is getting rich of off manufacturer defects. LG wouldn't honor the warranty because we installed it ourselves.
Have you called LG and asked them?
Same issue here, appears to be design flaw with float assembly. It lets dirty water into float and over time gets gunked up. According to several posts, fix is to remove float assembly, clean it, and reinstall. Should be good for another 4 or 5 years
