What are the pros and cons of using vinegar to kill weeds?

    Do not get the vinegar on any plant you want. If it is a small weed, you can place a shield around it to keep the surrounding plants safe. The Vinegar will kill young weeds easier. Baking soda is good also..they both work. Make sure you have a rain free day..as any run off may go where you do not intend.

    As long as there are no other plants or lawn involved it works.The mixture is what vinegar and water 50/50 a dab of soap and a dab of salt.

  • I love using vinegar as it is environmentally friendly and not harmful to pets. For any area heavily treated with vinegar you will lose a season of planting and the soil will need to be amended before planting in that spot again. For me, worth it. My neighbors and I have too many pets, so we will not use any chemicals at all unless absolutely necessary. For us a personal choice.
