Bad paint color

Do you have any pictures to tie the room colors together.

Ok, we have all done this at some point or another - so you are not alone. Have you put your kitchen back together yet? Once you add accessories and decor it may not look as bad as you initially thought. Maybe you can pick up a few new decor items to tie the rooms together. Get a trusted family member or friend whose opinion you trust and has a decorating style similar to yours for a second opinion and to bounce ideas off of. If you really still do not like it, get paint samples and put a bunch up before deciding and repainting again. Can you post photos? Yellow can be a tricky color sometimes and when paired with a close proximity room of another color it can change your whole perception. Still my gut instinct tells me it can be overcome with a few well placed decor pieces, window treatments, rugs and textiles.

i agree. When you put everything back it might be fine. If not, you can maybe sponge paint another color on the yellow to tone it down. Sometimes it's just impossible to know what the end result might be until it's there staring at you. Also, maybe you could paint one wall as an accent wall to take away some of the contrast.

I had to similiar experience recently when we moved & repainted the living & dining room in a grey shade that looked completely purple to me afterwards! I was tempted to repaint but once we hang some pictures and other decorations I started to really like it. It's hard to see past the colour when the room is empty. Try adding some pictures that match but bring in the colours of the rooms nearby. If you really still dislike it that much afterwards, I would just repaint but get a sample test can first (my biggest regret was not doing this).

After you have the room put back together, think about adding a wallpaper border to spice up the color or even wallpapering one wall.
