I'd find out if it's worth anything first. That said, keep in mind it'll get rusty pretty quickly unless sealed, protected. You'll need to drill holes in it for drainage at the bottom.
I agree with Marnag. Have it checked for worth first. Then drill it, seal it and plant only seasonal. You'll want to clean it and put it away for the winter unless of course you're in a non-winter State.
