Hello

I have a 1865 house for 36 yrs...been redoing -re decorating....i find when you
paint fools with poly and when you want to change colors that is nightmare.
ALL the rooms have vintage look...with stain we used when we moved in....they do not make anymore.....the only room did not have wood floor i the bathroom-had vinyl-took that off....and put old plane barnwood....Look clean....water spots on this started turning black....re-sanded it ....put rugs over it...looks ugly...need to put something down...i am not doing the poly thing... or paint...do not want stain....i want the natural look...that we can wipe water stains...

thanks

You could use tung oil. It soaks into the wood, really sealing it. You will need several coats with drying time between but this results in a hard, beautiful finish.
