Try GLC Lime cleaner and it does remove rust.
A few things Clorox, vinegar
I'd try vinegar first, but if that fails, try Avon's Skin So Soft, traditional version. That stuff is amazing. I've taken off tar of my car, also sap. It certainly would be more gentle than some of the more corrosive ways of getting rid of deposits of stuff you would think of as permanent. And no, I don't sell or even use Avon products anymore, except for Skin So Soft.
I've used CLR lime remover, and if its tree sap I've dabbed the spots with diluted bleach.
