On the opposite end of most baby bottle brushes there is a small brush called a "nipple brush" for cleaning baby bottle nipples. This works nicely on small jugs.
You can use a baby bottlebrush. If that's too thick to get into the neck of your jug....Then find something very thin, but sturdy like a metal skewer... wrap it in thin cotton fabric and put it bottle, with some soap and water and clean the jug. Bleach will get rid of any old funky stuff in the bottle,as well.
uncooked rice! fill your jup about half full, and a couple drops of dish detergent and about a 1/2 cup of uncooked rice. Cover the top with the lid or your hand and shake the jug s that the graino of rice swirl around. You may need to do this several times, considering how dirty the jug is.
Sherry, I was going to say the uncooked rice trick.
