I really hate to strip and sand and just want to slap it on some bookshelves and play with it. Will it work or does it have to be on bare wood? Thanks!
HI if there is some rough spots or loose areas on the furniture you can just sand it a little otherwise you can paint right over it. Also you can put a seal chalk paint over it to. Hope this helps
If it has any glossy appearance at all, i would lightly sand it with 150 grit sandpaper to remove the gloss. Then prime and paint. But most chalk paints don't require priming.
It's always helpful to do a Light sanding just to help the paint adhere
