For outside? Apply food grade diatomaceous earth.
Corn meal. Ants take it to the queen and it kills the whole colony. If you don't get the queen they will just multiply. They can't digest corn meal.
we put bakind powder on their streets. they don't come back
I'm using cinnamon successfully - a solution of two cups of vinegar and 30-40 drops of cinnamon essential oil. It smells lovely, and the ants don't like it at all.
I've also had great success with cinnamon in my kitchen.
Cinnamon works wonders and there's no chemical smells!
I wipe down counters and floors with pinesol and water.also put some in spray bottle for outside spray and they leave.always works for me..
The best solution I've found for any ant species is to mix baking soda with powdered sugar in a 50/50 mix and sprinkle it over and around the hill. The ants carry it inside eagerly and feed it to the queen. The baking soda is the same size as the sugar; they can't tell the difference. It dries their bodies out and they die- it takes a few days but it's green and non-toxic to humans and pets. and it's a cheap solution, too.
Uncooked grits and/or corn meal both work. They cannot digest them, so the whole colony feasts and dies.
I use coffee grounds to get rid of ants. I always save grounds and let them dry. Sprinkle where the ants are "bugging" you and...no more ants.
