How can I repurpose long vertical rectangles from a vertical blind?

The vertical blinds covered a patio door in their former life. Has anyone come up with an amazing use/craft for them? (I'd hate to discard them all and THEN see your amazing ideas.)

the very first thought I had was to weave them, These are picture of inspiration I found on the internet. I also see where some people have painted them.

Mine were an awful color metal blind, not good for any decorative purpose, inherited from the previous owners. I saved some of the vanes to use as a straight-edge for painting, etc.
I used the excess blinds from my horizontal blinds to make a star for the outside wall at Christmas. Maybe cut yours in half.
If yours are the large verticals, weave them and use as a "rug" for your patio.
