How about hanging some string lights on Command Hooks above /around the mirror? You could do the globe or Edison bulbs for extra brightness. (Just be sure that the electrical connections are away from water.)
Sams club has these great stick on led lights that are battery operated and come with a remote. We use them for under the cabinet lighting in our kitchen but they would also work really well in your small bathroom
You can purchase stick on lights, just be careful they will not damage the wall.
Hand a small shelf over mirror and buy one of those long battery operated light fixtures for under kitchen cabinets. Found these on sale for $13.95 marked down from $29.99 for four. https://www.walmart.com/ip/3-Under-Cabinet-Kitchen-4-LED-Cordless-Push-Tap-Stick-On-Touch-Lights/250122511?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=5453&adid=22222222227074977179&wmlspartner=wmtlabs&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=c&wl3=188294390306&wl4=pla-347059060007&wl5=9010764&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=113932389&wl11=online&wl12=250122511&wl13=&veh=sem
Or forget the shelf and hang them on each side of mirror or ON mirror - you can remove them and take with you later. Heavy duty velcro should hold them in place either under shelf or on mirror. This way you can change batteries when needed with ease.
Thanks for the ideas everyone!
