Hi Marilynn, I used just one of those small crowbar looking things. It worked well for me. I don't think it has a specific name other than small crowbar thing! I could be wrong on that, however! Regardless, it worked well for me. A crowbar was too big and damaged the baseboard. This thing didn't. Hope I've helped some!
I've used a butter knife, washcloth and a mini pry bar. Use the butter knife to get between the wall and the baseboard and wiggle it to loosen it up enough for the pry bar. Fold the wash cloth in half and put it between the wall and your pry bar. Insert the pry bar into the section you loosened with the butter knife and you will be able to pull the baseboard free while the wash cloth protects your dry wall.
Try using a spackle knife they are thin and fkexable and won't do too much damage
Marilynn: I was just telling my husband how I referred to it as a small crowbar thingie and he said , while rolling his eyes, "It's like a pinch bar". Ours is called a "super bar". Look for the parts of the baseboard that you can see are nailed, if you pull there, it'll make it much easier and it won't break.
Awww thank you. You're so sweet to add anotger note to help me. 😚
