Yes it is possible. I've done it. Success comes with doing the correct prep. I sanded the vanity to make it rough enough for the new surface to stick. I used epoxy paint. Must allow adequate drying time for the paint to cure. Other option is to resurface with cement. Plenty of instructions available on the web.
