You might make a bench from a child's headboard and foot board, and free pallet wood, paint it with exterior paint. https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=how%20to%20make%20a%20bench%20from%20a%20head%20board%20and%20footboard&rs=typed&term_meta[]=how%20to%20make%20a%20bench%20from%20a%20head%20board%20and%20footboard%7Ctyped
You can pick up some pretty pots at thrift stores sometimes, and Dollar Tree has sunflower seeds and some cute metal hangings and brackets. You could even put some silk sunflowers in till the real ones grow. They also have wings.
Make a wood plaque from a scrap, and bejewel your child's name in those beach glass pebbles from the dollar tree. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/194780752612815346/
If you want a better back drop buy a roll of bamboo fencing at the garden store, or even a straw beach matting would work.

How about planting a pollinator and butterfly garden. What a wonderful memorial for a past life than to give the gift of continued life and protection to our pollinators. Our Honey bees at facing extinction and so are many of our butterflies. A few beautiful Sunflowers will also provide a lot of pollen and seeds for the birds in the fall look on line for lots of ideas and good luck
thank you so much for your ideas.
Maybe you could plant a tree that will grow in that spot for years as a remembrance of your daughter. You could put in a bench, a few shade loving flowers around the tree, and some kind of marker with your daughter's name on it, either a large beach stone with her name decoratively painted on, or have an etched plaque that could be set into the ground in front of the tree. I love the idea of having some flowers that butterflies and hummingbirds will come to. Best wishes on your endeavor.
Hi Crazee. I'm very sorry about your daughter. My son died also and I have special places in his memory. Your best bet is to shop in thrift stores and at yard sales and dollar stores. You can find some meaningful things for not much money at those places. I have bought angels, etc. I've also bought statues of animals/musical notes or guitars/cartoon character/or anything that reminds me of him or his hobbies. When buying flowers, try to buy perennials so you don't have to buy and plant every year. Flowers in her favorite color would be nice. Don't forget about what kind of sun/shade is in that area. A shepherds hook with something nice hanging from it would be a nice touch. Let your heart guide you and if you don't spend too much money, you can always change it out.
I am sorry for your loss. What a lovely idea to honor that loss and your daughter.
The area in the picture is perfect and shows much potential.
I love the pollinator/butterfly garden suggestion. Or maybe flowers or feeder to attract hummingbirds. The garden does not have to be done all at one time. Start with a plan, draw out the area/space you want to fill, add flowers each season as you can. Again Pinterest has wonderful inspiration. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/300615343850316392/
I prefer wide-mouthed hummingbird feeders as I think they are easier to clean. End of season clearance sales or garage sales are where I have found some good ones.
Thanks for the help!
Thank you for your ideas
I think that is a wonderful idea, thank you so much.
This actually sounds doable and I think it might be the way I go with this. Thank you for your thoughts.
