ammonia and hot water or vinegar and hot water I use a squeegee and a soft rag, I drape the rag on the squeegee and clean the glass and then use the squeegee to remove the water, either one will work
Newspaper and alcohol works great
On the outside, especially second story windows, I like an outside glass cleaner that attaches to your hose. It uses a sheeting action that helps keep the windows cleaner longer.
Inside, I use white vinegar and water.
Vinegar and water yields streak free results.
Hot water with vinegar to clean & wipe dry with newspaper - no streaks, but you will have to wash the print off your hands. The same for lower outside windows & use a squeegee to wipe extra water off then use newspaper. For high windows glass cleaner that attaches to your hose.
For extremely grimy glass, prewash with very soapy water, then go to the vinegar spray.
I vote for wiping with newspaper. My Mom used that method for years. You might wear gloves though to prevent hands from getting ink on them.
I use vinegar and water and either newspaper or coffee filters, both are great for no streaks!

First, take an equal amount of vinegar and water and mix them together in a spray bottle. White distilled vinegar will work best for this. Then, spray the solution on your windows and let it sit for around two to three minutes. Lastly, use a gentle cloth to wipe away the cleaning solution and avoid any streaks.
I use half and half plain white vinegar and water, spray on and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
