- Williamon Jul 17, 2017Do not use polyurethane. It is not food safe Do not use any type of cooking oils (corn, canola, olive, etc.) they become rancid over time. Mineral oil or Salad Bowl finish are both food safe.HelpfulReply
- V Nicholson Jul 17, 2017Are you using for actually eating off of it? Like a bowl or plate? If so, you can use Olive Oil on it, or coconut oil. I wouldn't use poly if you are actually eating off of it. I have a wood cutting board, I occasionally reseal it with olive oil.HelpfulReply
