How do I remove rust from tools left out in rain overnight ?

    I like Liquid Wrench and steel wool to remove rust from tools.

    Pour "Coke" over it and let it sit about 30...it should disappear with a little elbow grease when you dry it.

    Fill a child's bucket with sand, and pour motor oil over the sand. Put the tools point down into the sand and the sand will rub away the rust and keep them rust free if you store the tools in the same way.

    I would take a steel wool or SOS pad and rub them down rinse well; then rub them down with oil before putting them up.

    Hope pepsi is OK since that's what's in frig for grands (don't like soda myself. Glad to see this ans as I wrote because I remembered something about soaking as opposed to scrubbing with commercial products. Thanks, I'll try it today... I used to be very up-to-date and kept tools in deep bucket after cleaning and oiling and burying metal parts in sand, am alone now and just "forgot" tools and discovered them totally covered in rust days later. Shame on me.
