Southern Traditions: Why Did My Grandmas Sweep Their Yards?
My question as I watched these grandparents was always, "Why are you sweeping your yards, and why is there no grass around your house?" We have grass around ours.
Ahh, the beauty of using natural granite just keeps on giving. Sweep them off occasionally and pull plants that try to grow over them. I don't think I am exaggerating in saying that you should expect hundreds of years to go by before they need to be replaced. Live long and prosper.
First I would use a leaf blower or broom and clean them off as much as possible. Then spray with water to get any debris that may have been left behind. You can then use soap and water to clean them. Last I would find a stone sealer and seal them.
Thanks a lot;
