You don't mention what room this is for, but I like the dark, navy blue paint with walnut trim for a mans room. For women, I love a light mint green with pink flowers decorating the doors and drawers. But choices are up to you. Here are some google images that might help.

Hello Becky; You have a nice looking Armoire!!
If I were redoing your Armoire, I would go to Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Etc.
Please get any paint chips that you like and are attracted to.
Bring them home and decide what you Love and Enjoy.
If you are looking to color match something in your room, it is helpful to take a color with you, be it a pillow, Etc. The Associates can easily match colors, for you.
Please choose what colors make you Happy, as you will be living with this piece in your Home!!!
I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!
Ahhhh this looks like my Sauder TV stand. I was thinking of darkening mine with an espresso gel stain, but paint would be fine too. You could go neutral: gray, taupe, off white, black or any of the chalk paint colours to give it a shabby chic/country/rustic look, or give it a bold hue. Have fun, and remember you can always change it.
I have taken a pillow or something from the same room and then gone to paint store to see what colors I like to go with what I have in the room already. Good luck and hav fun!
Becky: There are a lot of choices in chalk paint you could choose from. I would lighten it up, i.e. , with off white and choose the chalk paint wax of your choice as a top finish. I might choose gold wax or a brown as the finish and antique the piece with the wax being careful not to overdo the wax color. You can also use acrylic paint and an acrylic stain if you prefer. In any event, choose a lighter color than the brown. There are great designer colors in blues, greys, greens and just about anything else that will compliment your decor.
I would paint it a soft, light color. I have noticed I tire of the dark colors easy. They also show dust more than the light colors. Another benefit of light colors is they can fit in with the decor in more rooms of your home.
Thank you to all of my fellow Hometalkers!! I appreciate your ideas, tips and for taking the time to help me. Wishing all of you a wonderful and Blessed day!!!
It's a lovely beautiful piece of furniture - I think a linen white color would look crisp and clean. I'd also add new knobs (Hobby Lobby has a varied assortment). Good luck with your project🙂
depending on you decor I have mixed the outside to be paint and stain. I like the contrast
Becky, there isn't enough info here to go on......I need to know where it is going, what other pieces are going with it, and what the room and surrounding area looks like before I can come up with something.
Hello Becky; You are so Welcome!! Have fun with this piece and Take Care!
I know you're looking to paint it, it's a beautiful piece of furniture. I wouldn't put one ounce of paint on it, I would stain it. If somewhere years later you wanted to change it, and it was painted you'd have to strip it. There are beautiful stains out there that would be gorgeous on it also. I, myself wouldn't paint such a Beautiful piece of furniture. Please post a pic of it to when its done. I'm sure whatever you do it'll be Majestic! Good luck!
