Do I need a deprecate circuit for my window unit

    Do you mean a dedicated circuit? Ideally, you should have a separate 20 amp circuit for your AC, but it may depend on what else is using the same circuit. If the AC unit is in a bedroom, things like lamps and alarm clocks are probably not going to need enough power to trip your breaker. But if you plan on using anything that draws a lot of power on the same circuit (a vacuum cleaner, a big hair dryer, etc.), it's best to give the window unit its own circuit.

    It is 100% dependent on the amount of power your air conditioner needs and what else is on the circuit. Usually the manual that came with the air conditioner will tell you if they recommend a dedicated circuit. You didn't give us enough information to answer your question.

    12,000 btu a/c. Does it need its own circuit? Says 115v.

    How many amps. That determines if you need a separate circuit.
