I would say so many colors go with yellow that you are not limited in any way. When I am not sure, I look at flowers for inspiration.
White walls with a butcher block counter would look great. Also, you might consider a light sage green.

I think a off white for the trim would look nice, and keep the room open. The walls I would do a light golden yellow.
Depends if you want to bring out the yellow. I would paint the room a light blue and the cabinets white or gray.

Thanks Cynthia. Your suggestion gives me a different point of view. Do you recommend specific paint names?
My thought is to keep all of the trim off white, but you could go with a different shade of white.
