I have to do it myself. Though I may hook a friend into helping.

Hi Jeannette, You can actually buy a carport kit at Lowe's! If you want to build one from scratch, here's a link that has several different styles to choose from. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/374009944028701136/?lp=true

This one looks fairly simple and probably one of the least expensive: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/how-to-build-a-lean-to-roof.html

    Good luck!

Nice looking is individual taste so I did a google image search for diy carport.

To see more info about the picture click on the picture then, on the right, click on View Page. To go back to continue looking, first use your back button to get to the picture, then just use the X on the picture and all the others will come back.

Good luck! I hope you find something you like.

Find on on craigslist that is close to what you want. People take down things like car ports when houses flip. I have had great luck finding house materials there. Also, salvage materials can keep the price down.

There are kits that come with everything included. Great ideas and explanations can be found on pintrest, with an online Google search you can find most anything to build in your budget. The library or another book store will have books specific to this topic- complete with techniques.

When I need inspiration, a walk in a new neighborhood to see what others have done for building ideas like carports useful in visualizing what you want. Most people will share how or who built things if you find something that you like.

Many of the big box stores sell carports-in-a-big-box. Inexpensive? Most of them start at $250 and are essentially open tents with either a cloth covering or something more durable such as steel.

One of my neighbors built an A-frame to house his car. It was easy enough for him to put up himself; the only time I saw someone else working on it was when he sheathed the top with plywood. He then shingled it, leaving the sides open.

If your basement is anything like mine it has only the little bitty windows that very kittle to no sunlight gets in thru. If that's the case a UV light is in order. In the winter months i bring my outside plants in. And put them in the spare room. While it gets some sunlight it's not nearly enough. So I purchased an inexpensive multi bulb lamp, put a. Timer on it so it would automatically turn on for 6 hours then shut off. Lowes had the best price on them that I could find.
