You sprinkle it around in your oven, and then spray it down with vinegar, let the reaction occur and then scrub it clean with a brillo sponge or brillo pads.

Hello Karen :) I remember wayyyy back in the "dinosaur days" when my mom used ammonia! WHEW! Here is a link to tell you how to use baking soda and vinegar .. still a bit stinky but not as badly as ammonia, and much safer for the one doing the cleaning AND the others breathing the air in the house:
