Fall is the best time to plant grass seeds as the weeds are not as active. Lay a few inches of top soil, seed for your area, top with STARTER FERTILIZER,and peat moss, keeping the seeds moist until they germinate

Hi Nancy. Fall is actually the best time to plant grass seed. I would recommend buying a good seed. I have found that it is worth the extra money. I also cover mine with hay, and keep it watered once a day.

Absolutely. You need good seed to soil contact, so this is best for bare spots.

As long as its planted before the first frost so the seed has time to take, its great to plant in the fall!

This is the best time to plant grass seed due to the extra moisture and cooler temperatures. If you are unable to do it in the Fall, April is good also (for the same reasons).
