If I use contact paper on bathroom counter, do I seal with a poly coat
If I use contact paper to cover my bathroom counter and backsplash, would it be best to put a poly coat over it? I wouldn't think midge podege would work.
would you consider painting it
Cheapest and fastest would be to paint it and then seal it.
You could paint it (the most inexpensive makeover) but if you want something with pattern, you could always use peel and stick tile decals. They come in a variety of sizes and patterns. I'm just guessing those are 6" tiles, so here's a few examples (not selected to go with your current color scheme, just to give you an idea of the range available):

Epoxy is my go-to.....one paint (even spray) , I can not be without!
How well does epixy hold up to heat(hot pans) and does it scratch easily?
Unicorn spit paint will make a marble finish that will be outstanding. Use the Epoxy shiny finish!! Very inexpensive and Easy Peasy to do.
I used Daich SpreadStone over bathroom laminate countertops and it worked well. You could use that but unless you fill in the grout lines, you will still have those. It does come in a variety of colors and I found it quite easy to use (I'm not the craftiest person). Lots of options besides tearing them out!
Paint the tiles with the color you like and then seal, you could use a grout pen for the lines.
