How do I prevent cold air from coming in behind my kitchen sink?
I have cold air that comes in from behind kitchen sink an counter. There is a gap between counter an the wall.
Is the faucet leaking? Otherwise you just need to watch when you do dishes and rinse to avoid having water splashed over the back of the sink and wipe up what does go up there right away.
You can add more caulking to build up the surface if it is not too wide.
We had this problem with our farmhouse sink which had a 3 inch space behind it to the wall... we finally solved the problem by building out the wall (like a soffet ) behind the sink and just up to the bottom of the window. When the 'soffet" was done the tile hardy backer and tile extended over the edge of the sink so any water splashing up would run back into the sink. We use a large format tile 18 in X 36in so it was all one piece.. then my husband just used some clear silicone to complete the seal. We cut a 2nd piece of tile to make a shelf on the top to hold plants or just stuff
