Exactly location and how much space is there for planting
Since we don't know your location and therefore we don't know your hardiness zone it's hard to make suggestions. There are a few general ideas that come to mind. For bushes I think boxwood is good start along with ornamental grasses. However, for other plants, from my point of view, I'd talk to a local nursery or garden center. They know the native plants that will do well in your area. I hope that helps you get started.
