I've had a couple of squeaky stair since I moved into this house in 1972. Before they were carpeted I asked if they could be fixed. (I was young then and there was no internet to look it up) I was told that you have to get under the stairs and my stairs were enclosed on all sides so it wasn't possible so they are still there! Having said that, here is an article that might help: https://www.familyhandyman.com/floor/floor-repair/how-to-repair-squeaky-stairs/view-all/

    Good luck on your project.

1-Try a quick fix using a powdery substance; talc/baby powder.

2-Stick toothpicks in every gap. Under the tread front or at the back of the tread where it might be rubbing the riser behind.
