Try a wire hanger to clean out all the jets and use toilet bowl cleaner in the tank. It's going to take a bit of time and work, but muriatic acid can etch the toilet bowl.
Vinegar in the water tank, or once in a great while I will use a bleach tablet if the tank is real dirty or your getting rust marks.
I also use Roebic Drain Cleaner and Root Killer. The root killer gets rid of those roots that break into old sewer lines from trees and its slows down your flush, do at least once a year or when its going slow - usually spring and fall.
The drain cleaner you mix with warm water and put in the toilet at bedtime and let sit over night.... the enzymes eat the gunk away.
I agree with Roxaneg and a little with Sharon. Muriatic acid will etch the porcelain. Vinegar or toilet bowl cleaner in the tank and flush to coat the hole passages. A coat hanger poked in the holes will clear them if they are restricted. Bleach can be hard on the plastics and rubber components in the tank. Root Cleaner will kill tree roots in the drain pipes but you need to know they are there. Roots in the drain line (underground) would slow the whole house drains.
I just heard of 1/4 C Blue dawn and after a few minutes, 2 Cups Hot water(not boiling). Honestly, I haven't tried it but it's cheap.
