Just use command hooks. Or get a piece of wide ribbon....make a bow at top and sew hooks to it. Hang it in the space you have.

Hi Judyrevesmith, I know you said you only have a 3-inch wide space available but perhaps you could craft along narrow frame with a pretty picture of a tulip or a tall thin Christmas tree, or something LOL. I say tihs because I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea! You could have TWO long-ish, narrow frames, one over the other in a related theme or something so just one picture wouldn't look so lonely LOL. or maybe just a hanging mirror to make sure you look okay as you are heading out the door. ;) Here is the unique idea I saw:

Love this idea too, mini birdhouses covered in washi tape and you could put them down the space or staggered across or whatever your heart desires:

ORRRR YOU COULD USE E6000 GLUE AND GET SOME SMALL BUT STRONG MAGNETIC DOTS AND GLUE THEM TO THE SIDES OF THE KEYS ... HANG A PIECE OF METAL SHEETING ON THE WALL AND THEN LET THE MAGNETS HOLD THEM TO THE METAL SHEET ... EASY PEASY ;)
I put in a little slot for those things I needed to remember to take with me-- grocery lists, mail, coupons-- and put a bigger hook below that. The slot was finished off with some cup hooks on the bottom for keys. The bigger hook was for the coat I always needed but forgot to grab on the way out.
