Gray walls: here to stay or go away?
Are gray walls here to stay or are they on their way out?
Hey everyone,

But the question remains: Are gray walls a timeless classic or a passing fad?

Like other colors they’re here for a while till the next new theme replaces them. Personally I like the gray colors.
Gray walls are timeless. There are so many different shades, from light to dark, to various color families.
I've never been a fan, but I think that gray is a classic. Also, I think you should decorate with what makes you happy regardless of trends.
Gray is here to stay, but be careful of undertones when painting gray. Purple really shines thru. I like the brown, green or blue undertones but for use in different rooms.
There are so many variations of grey, that I think it is here to stay....in one tone or another.
Nothing is here to stay in my 60 years of observation so I go with what I love regardless of what is trending.
Hi Amy: Depends on what YOU like. It's your home, do what you like and not what others dictate. Unless, of course, they are footing the bill for your home. If not, they can climb a rope :) I think it's a passing fad as most colours are.
I am sure it will remain as a classic and timeless color. In particular, I love dark gray (slate) - it looks super calming and solid at the same time.
Gray walls are a classic, totally here to stay
I don’t understand the hate for gray as it’s a versatile neutral much like beige or taupe but nicer and in my opinion, classier. I think it’s here to stay but I will always encourage people to be bold and colorful. After all, it is just paint and easily changed.
It is timeless, you can have a basic gray background and it will give you the option of showing your creativity.
If you like that cool look then go for grey, if not go for a warm white or cream!
IMO, everything is a passing fad. That's why I choose what I love rather than follow trends. I don't have the time or energy or funds to redecorate every few years.
Grey walls have been done A LOT and for that reason I think more people are drawn to neutrals with a beige/brown tone now. But choose what you love!
