Is there an easy way to fix a faulty toilet cistern?

Our toilet cistern needs tweaking, as it continuously without shutting off the water inflow.

you may have to take the lid off the tank and adjust the float...looks like a rubber ball on the end of a metal arm. try bending it downward a inch or so....then flush and see if that helps. the float is attached to the flapper round seal on bottom of tank. if its worn it wont seal properly. not hard to change out.
