Any DIY ideas for a Peg Votive Candle Holder?

I have quite a few peg Votive candle holders and the peg stumps me for DIY uses. Can anyone help out?

I 'think' it's a 1/2" drill bit that will create a hole to take the peg...at that point, the sky's the limit what you can drill holes in to - a log, an old chair, a cutting board, barn wood, old bunt pans...
Plant holders - Bottle holders - Tumbler holder- Jam /Preserve Holder etc.

If they're what I'm thinking. I made some into mini cloches, the others I wired up similar to mason jar candle holders and hung them outside.
