Lots of ways to do this! You need to decide if you want it to attach to the bed or just hang it on the wall. Do you have wood working tools ?
I remember one way from 35 yrs or so ago. Buy or make a rectangular pillow with the density of foam you want to fit the head of your bed. Make a cover from the fabric of your choice. You can then make a balanced number of fabric loops using the same fabric. Sew them evenly spaced, within the 'top' seam.
Buy or make a heavy-duty, cafe style curtain rod to hang on the wall that you set the bed's head against. Slip the pillow thru its loops, onto the rod. Just push your bed up to it. You decide where on the bed you want the cushion to touch.
You can make smaller pillows and line 2-4 across the rod for a different effect. Feels great on yourback when you want to sit up and read, etc. No headboard to bang the wall. Easy to make the bed.
