Look around for a piece of furniture that fits the size you want (such as a small chest of drawers, table, or section of cabinetry). I once used a 2'X4' discarded science lab table, nailed on a piece of plywood to fit for the top, and screwed casters on the bottom for mobility. I attached doors and two shelves and painted the whole thing. Later, when I was having new formica installed on my counter tops, I had my table top covered in matching formica also. The size and mobility of this project proved to be very serviceable in my kitchen.
