I love Behr paint, pain't and primer in one.Just paint it like any other wall. If you want it to look like dry wall u can take the time to use drywall mud and fill the cracks.
We did our whole house. The paneling is very porous. Use a primer first to seal it. We used Kilz. If you don't, you will just find yourself repainting it over and over.
Use Kilz stain. Maybe 2 coats but when you put on the color coats of paint don't press to hard or it will stretch the paint if it is latex.
