Is it possible to make a discreet hole in the side, remove some of the stuffing and resew it up?

-- can you go in from the bottom and remove some of the stuffing - or has it 'collapsed' from people standing, or putting objects on it that are too heavy -- if so, many 'ottomans' are supported by very stiff/heavy weight cardboard and you'll need to put in something more supportive --
