How to get rid of trash can odor

    wash the can out with white vinegar,allow to dry and place a box of baking soda in the bottom

    Assuming this is a kitchen can -Scrub the can. Use a plastic bag liner - always. Place a thickness of newspapers at the bottom. Change the news papers periodically. They will soak up anything that leaks thru. Keep a lid on it.

    if you have essential oils you can take a cotton ball and sprinkle on several drops of peppermint and lavender and it will keep your can smelling great. To remove old odors, wash the can with hot water, take a paper towel rolled into a ball and add 2-3 drops of vanilla extract. Close lid and let it do it's job then the smell of vanilla will go away and so will the odors

    Wash with baking soda. Buy the bags with the fresh scent.

    I have used pine soap and warm water for years. Rinsed with water and turned upside down to dry will work like a charm.

      Irish spring original scent soap. Cut a couple of bars into pieces and place around garage.

    Clean can out with Pine-Sol bugs hate the smell then attach one of those cheap toilet deoderiser( the ones with the metal hanger) to the can - no smells and no bugs!
