What's the best way to fill a lot of asphalt cracks on a slope?

I have a steep asphalt driveway that is developing lots of cracks, large and small, from tree roots. A liquid crack filler is fast and easy but doesn't work well on a slope. Crack filler in a tube can be an expensive way to fill a lot of cracks, especially if they are large. I haven't tried trowel grade crack filler yet but it seems hard to find. Should I just get it professionally done?

given that the roots will keep expanding the cracks? I would at least get an estimate.

the liquid filler 'can' be put into a squirt bottle and fed into the cracks - tedious, but it then makes brushing/rolling it over the rest of the drive more manageable.
