If it is a moulded sink into the counter, you most likely have cultured marble. The spray paint is for laminate. The spray will not hold to the finish of the cultured marble no matter how much you sand or prep. There are just some things you can't DIY.
I find marble is an AWFUL material in wet spaces... including floors. Marble scratches and stains. It is similar in composition to chalk... can you paint that?
As said by others, there are some things you just CAN'T do!

You can try sanding the marble to give something for the paint to adhere to, then use ceramic paint that does not need to be fired. I'd finish it off with a polyurethane sealer. Hobby stores even have a super thick high, high gloss stray that simulates the depth of polished marble. I used it on a faux lapis technique I did on a lamp and it really gave it depth.
