Hi Nchiuchair, Here's a link that may help: http://www.countertopspecialty.com/dyeing-marble-tile.html
Good luck!
If it's real marble, sell it and get what you want. If it's cultured marble, you can rough up the surface and use an epoxy paint. Good luck.
You know, I want to say that you should appreciate it for the beautiful natural product that it is. However, I share your aversion to pink:

I wouldn't expect it to go well, but you don't know until you try. I have never seen pink natural marble. Did not know it existed.
You should sell it! It retails for $40-$200 per sq meter. Then like Bijous said, you can buy what you want!
Thanks everyone for your comments & suggestions! I was asking on my niece's behalf. She recently purchased a home and wants to redecorate the room in which they do indeed have natural pink marble . The previous owners apparently did not spare expense on some of their decorating projects, so maybe they should consider repurposing the counter top elsewhere. But will pass along your suggestions should she decide to dye it as well.
OooohHH! Don't do it. Better to sell it and replace it or cover it, but don't paint it.
