How do I remove stains (from planter) from my concrete stoop?
I have a beautiful blue ceramic planter on my stoop that has left a stain on my concrete stoop. I have tried scrubbing it but it doesn't help. What works?
Muratic acid works well on concrete. Although it sounds bad it's not corrosive. It's sold as a concrete cleaner at any hardware or home store such
as Lowe's or Home Depot.
Rinse the stained concrete with water from a garden hose( pressure washer attachment if you have one) . Allow the spot to dry and see if the stain is gone. If the stain is not gone but has faded, keep rinsing until the stain is gone, or stops fading. OR Dissolve 1 cup of tri-sodium phosphate in 1 gallon of warm water. Saturate the stained area with the mixture and scrub it with a stiff-bristled brush. Rinse the area with water. Repeat until the stain fades.
I have used bleach & water to get rid of insects - maybe that might work? They do have concrete paint if you want to really even things out.
