Flex Seal tells you it's good for everything,. If you use it, will you be able to get some light? You'll have to see it on the can or spray bottle if you can use it for that .

Depends on what you mean by "work". In Canada we have something called Tuck tape...not to be confused with Duct tape. It comes on a 2" wide roll. Unfortunately it is red so that's a bit of a drawback especially on windows but if esthetics isn't an issue it's an excellent choice It is very thin which has it's advantages and it sticks like you wouldn't believe. It is both sun and water resistant. It survives our Canadian winter. I've used it in places outside, it's been there for years and it just keeps on sticking. You can get it in any hardware store or you could probably order it online. Just make sure your surface is clean before you apply it.

You can also use Gorilla Tape. It comes in clear. Sold at any big box store and Walmart.
