Our exterior windows get lots of calcium buildup from our sprinklers.

Have you tried vinegar?
I think white vinegar will remove calcium build up. If not, use Muriatic acid. You can find that in the swimming pool supply area of the big box hardware stores.
After cleaning, you need to adjust the sprinklers so they do not spray on the windows and the house. If you do not know how, call a sprinkler pro and they may need to move some of the sprinkler heads to accomplish this. Water spraying on a house IS GOING TO CAUSE WOOD ROT in time. I know from experience!
Try using a wash cloth and hold it there for a minute. Use full strength. If that works, maybe tape up an old towel or something soaked in it, see if that helps. I also found that a bottle of cleaner that I found at home depot helps a lot too. I was replacing the soil in my large terrarium today and I wanted to clean the glass, but it had a lot of calcium build up on the inside from humidity and misting, it was like looking through a white cloud. I used a safety razor blade to scrape off, then use an orange oxy cleaner. It was I think under three dollars for a quart of the stuff, and it lasts a long time. We cleaned our new to us fishing boat of all the water marks on the outside, and all the black mildew looking gunk off all the vinyl and the seats, even the wheel wells of the trailer. It helped take off the rest of the white stuff off the terrarium glass and I followed with a vinegar rinse and they were sparkling!
