Could put up some tarps
We have a similar structure and plan on using the "rippled" fiberglass panel that you can find at Home Depot or Lowe's... they come in several different heights (8ft, 10 ft, 12 ft) and are 24 inches wide. The come in a clear, frosted clear, white, green an a dark red/brown (?)... A frame work of 2x4's will support them and they can be cut with a skill saw, saws-all(reciprocating saw) or saber saw to fit the contour of the top. We plan on using large-ish washers with the screws so that the heads will not tear thru the fiberglass in the wind.

Tarps with bungees. Ball bungees on one side; hook bungees on the other.
My wonderfully creative hubby used privacy fence panels on both sides of our carport.
Get the plastic lattice like you have & hang on end & if rain still comes in put clear plastic inside. Tarps don't look good. If you use wood lattice then staple plastic on.
Good luck.
How was the lattice installed ? Looks like a simple installation.
