To answer that question you would have to consult with someone that specializes in Geothermal systems.... I would go to HomeAdvisor.com or Angieslist.com and find a reputable company that can give you good, correct information.

Some geographic areas due to the rock underneath etc - they are not worth it. I spoke to someone in my area, and my specific part of the county , they don't recommend. Someone has to know your specific situation.
Guy across the street from me put one in several years ago. I remember the installer telling him he would have to give up the bedroom closet, as it needed a control room. We have no basements in So. Louisiana, so I doubt this is necessary if you do have one. Also, he added on after the install, and I noticed that he also has a central air unit by his addition, so maybe there isn't a way to tie in additions?
