You could always put a throw rug over it. Try your local thrift stores, Good Will, etc.
Have you tried cleaning your carpet with Oxy Clean? It is an amazing product and takes out stains that nothing else will. Just mix with warm water apply to staied area and either brush by hand or if you have a carpet shampoo maching put it in that.
I would not use powdered oxy clean in a shampooer. I would buy the liquid concentrate. If the powder is not completely dissolved it can damage the machine.

Buy or make a large area rug to go over the carpet.
what kind of floor is under the carpet. If, its cement you will never get the carpet clean. what about covering with an area rug?
we've used a large rug to cover up carpets and they look nice and bring out some color too!
