It depends upon the lighting and the rest of your decor. If modern, maybe a dark grey on the wall behind the couch. That would show off the couch. Then paint the rest of the walls a very light grey.

That's actually more a personal preference thing, it would kind of depend on what other colors youre wanting to incorporate. I like a darker contrast wall, at least behind the sofa.

If you have a lot of blue accents you could do navy on one wall or perhaps wines and or reds would look good.

Have fun, let it be you!

What are the other colors and accessories in your room?

  • Since gray is a neutral, I would pick a color that I use in the rest of my decorating. It doesn't have to be dark.

There are a lot of colors that would go with that. You could get some of those sample jars of paint, and put swatches on your walls. Or go to Lowes or Home depot and get the paper swatches, they should have that color and the complementary colors. I think Lowes has a machine where you put in a color and it find's what goes with it.

White makes a nice contrast, easy to decorate the rest of the room and easier to sell your house in the future.

What's the mood of the room? If you're going for calm then use a light blue. If you're looking for bright and cheery go for yellow. It all depends on your preferences. Most colors will pair quite well with grey. Google the color wheel and pick a color that is complimentary to the decor in your room also. There's a Home Depot app I believe that you can virtually paint your walls (not positive on that) and see what look you like best. Maybe check that out? Good luck!

You are open to many color choices with such a neutral sofa. I like the darker grey idea for behind the sofa, then your accent can be your favorite colors, in accessories and perhaps an accent rug. Have fun

Either white or ivory shade would look best depending if your couch tends to the silvery grey side or not. Yours sounds like it needs white. If you like pink, a very mild pink color would also look great. Most people do not want pink as a main color, but I have a friend who did her living room in pink and it is gorgeous. I would never be that bold, but hers looks great. Your preference or favorite accent is important. Also, if you do go white walls, some throw pillows with pinkish or burgandy would look great, also blue shades from light to dark or printed with light and dark would work.

Almost any color can go with light gray. Its a neutral and looks smashing with any saturated color...

It really is a personal choice. I'd suggest getting color swatches and seeing how they look with you sofa. and other colors you want to bring into the room as accessories/decor. A navy wall might provide a good contrast to the grey and then paint the other walls a very light grey or even basic white.

Depends on what you like. I love contrast so would go with some yellow or red accent colors even burnt orange in small amounts.

What style are you going for? Any colors you love or hate? What colors are in your current furniture?
